Lily sort of tilted her head down as she drove and then back up. She had a funny feeling Dougie would bring that up, and there was no point hiding it from him, hell, she was all ready hiding something from him as it is she didn't want to add something else to the list. Lily felt comfortable around Dougie, safe even, and he's the first person she has gotten to sit down and talk to since the storm that separated her from her only family.
Sighing, she said, I asked the bartender whether or not she had seen the Winchesters or my brother Jared, because I know that they would go to a place like the Roadhouse. She told me she saw Sam and Dean three weeks ago, haven't returned since, and my brother came once and was never seen again. Her eyes started swelling up with tears again. I'm driving I don't need the waterworks right now! she thought. She wiped them away, looked over at Dougie and then back at the window. Then she told me that John Winchester, the man who saved me and my brother from having to go to an orphanage when our parents died, he's now dead too.
She couldn't fight back the tears anymore, as much as she didn't want to appear weak in front of Dougie she couldn't fight, so she pulled the car over and just cried. S-She didn't tell m-me how, but all I know that he's...he's Lily didn't have that little extra strength in her to finish her sentence. She looked into Dougie's eyes, that she found she seemed to adore, and said, I'm sorry, to break down like this, but I never thought, never dreamt, that I would lose someone else from my family.

Dougie hushed her quiet, as he drapped an arm around her crying body. He felt instantly sorry for her, losing someone was hard he had known. He lost his father right before he joined McFly and couldn't even think of picking up a guitar for a few weeks. He looked at her, even with tears streaming down her face she was pretty. He tightened his grip around her body taking in the scent of her shampoo. He felt good when he was with her. I'm sorry...I...know how hard it is too lose someone. He looked at her face and forced a smile. You seemed close to them, its gotta be hard. He paused for a second, his lips in a think line. Why don't I take over the car for a bit. I promise I wont crash it.

She felt so warm being close to Dougie, she could smell his deodorant or aftershave on his clothes, it was a lovely smell, a smell she didn't want to forget or part with. She hasn't felt like this around anyone, ever, and she never thought she would have this feeling with anyone. She smiled when Dougie offered to drive and said, Yeah sure, I can trust you with my car.

Dougie smiled and removed his arms from around Lily, something that he hated doing. He stepped out of the car and circled around to the driver's side, opening the door for Lily to get out. He smiled as he watched her walk around the car and climb into his previous seat. Which way? Dougie asked as he started the car up and was back on the road. His glance turned towards hers and he smiled, he felt slightly sorry for her, but not in the charity way. His hand ghosted over top of her, taking it in his. He smiled and squeezed a bit, hoping to get across that he cared deeply about her.

Lily was startled that Dougie had grabbed her by the hand, but she didn't pull away, she let him take it and held onto it, his touch feeling so warm and smiled back at him. He really cares about me, she thought. Him holding her close while she wept, offering to drive so she could calm now, taking her by the hand. Just keep going straight ahead, she said. The town's not hard to miss. She moved her thumb gently up and down his hand, to let him know how much she really appreciates him comforting her over her loss. You know a few things about myself. So, tell me something about yourself, absolutely anything at all.
