Darren walked the streets at 10 am when the sun was its best. Not to hot yet not cold like the nights. With a guitar in tow Darren enter the coffee shop, “La de Crème” looking for nothing in particular. It was a nice day, few gigs lined up and a day with Caitlin was planed. He barely could wipe a smile off his face. All was going well, but then…Darren woke up.
The alarm buzzed in his ear the sound reminding him that it was a.) Too early to get up and b.) That his life still sucked. That was all a dream, the beach, Caitlin. How he wished he could see her again. He shook his head as he shuffled out of bed trying to get his mind straight and off of her. Her death was still fresh in his mind like a cut that he kept picking the scab. He sighed and pulled on his clothes for the day. A white t-shirt and casual jeans. A cup of coffee and an hour later Darren was out of the door guitar in hand. He was locking up his door as he almost ran into her. He had seen her around but never bothered to say anything. Why? He didn’t know. And now, he had almost spilled his coffee on her. Turns out fate was not on his side.

Ailidh was walking along. Not really with anyplace in mind, she just had to get out of the Motel and away from her mum for a bit. Again, not focused on where she was going she nearly walked face first into a man who stepped into her way. "Oh jeeze sorry!" she cried, hopping backwards quickly and dodging the bit of coffee that sloshed in her direction. "I should have been watching where I was going" she smiled and pulled her blonde hair out of her face.

He smiled and shook his head, replacing the top on his coffee. No...no...it wasn't your fault. He looked at her. He blonde hair was beautiful to him. I'm Darren. He smiled and extended his hand. And you?

Ailidh smiled "You'd be surprised how much is actually my fault" she laughed good-naturdley "I'm Ailidh (Ale-ish)" she shook his hand and tilted her head "Have I seen you before. You seem kind of familiar." she frowned slightly and released his hand, relizing she hadn't let go yet. She blushed slightly and put her thumbs in the belt loops of her dark wash jeans. She looked down at her old worn sneakers.

He hated admitting he had seen her everyday for the past week. He wasn't stalking her persay...just midly interested in her. He laughed. Most likely, I'm out and about alot. He had started to turn towards his first gig at "The Mouse House" a local popular coffee house. He smiled at her then looked down at the cracked concrete and sighed. His worn sandals felt a little to dressed down all of a sudden and his blue worn tee seemed a bit to casual. He laughed at his own thoughts then started to step down futher off the steps. He wasn't quiet sure if the conversation was over or not.

Ailidh nodded with a smile. They were in town for a hunt. A nasty poltergeist that they should be dealing with at that exact moment technically, but she was sick and tired of her mum for now. This guys seemed like fun. "So, where're you headed to?" she followed him, hopefully not seeming like a desperate prat. "You play guitar then?" she examined the large case in his hands No, the case is ment to carry a flute, you idiot. Of course it's a guitar Ailidh groaned inwardly at her stupid mouth.
"Do you mind if I tag along. I've got nothing to do until lunch time!" Ailidh offered happily "As long as the place has coffee, then I'm good to go" she waited anxiously for the answer.

He laughed and eyed her suspiciously. No one ever showed much intrest in him but he took it as a compliment. He laughed at her words about his guitar and nodded. After her other question he smiled. Sure...the place is just around the corner. They have awesome coffee, lots of types to choose from. He laughed as he walked down the familar road towards the coffee shop. He looked at her. So what brings you to South Beach? He looked at the stop sign and decided to risk it anyways and cross the street. He was a risk taker after all.

"Sounds great then." Ailidh grinned. "I can't believe that I'm actually awake right now to tell you the truth. I haven't had my daily dose of coffee yet." she made a funny tired looking-face. As she leaned forward slightly she grimaced. Her back hurt from being slammed into the wall last night.
Ailidh froze at the sudden question about why they were in South Beach. WHy were they? She had never actually asked her mum what the cover story was. "Uh... well. MY mum's grandmother passed away yesterday" she stammered slightly. Hoping that the stammers just came across as sadness. She was normally a good lier but what the hell was going on now?

Darren wasn't buying the whole grandma dying thing. He smiled. Bull. He looked at her for any reaction. Why are you really here? He put emphises on the word 'really'. He staggered a few steps close to the coffee shop and smiled as he looked up at the sun. The bright gaze fell upon him making him shake his head at the beautiful weather. Sometimes he absoulutly hated it. He shifted his guitar over his back. His gazed turned back to Ailidh for an answer.

Ailidh bowed her head to the ground, hoping ot god it looked like she was slighly ashamed of lying. But really she was looking for a better lie. "Really? I'm trying to escape from a normal life." she said suddenly "But really, let's not talk about me, I hate having attention focused of me." she rubbed her arms and fingered a bright white scar that was fairly fresh that went all the way down her arm.
She was so self-consious of it. It was like a bulls-eye that drew attention to her. It ment something to her too. It was a reminder of her stupidity and what it could do. She had nearly gotten her mum killed that night, not to mention herself. Her thoughts got lost to the memory.
"Ailidh, I swear to god. I am so sick and tired of your back-talk." Her mum said angrily as the rain poured down onto the windshield of their car.
"I wasn't mouthing back." Ailidh said, staring out the windwo with boardum. "And besides, you failed to notice the signs!"
"I don't care if I missed a friggin' blue sign pasted to my forehead, I didn't ask you to help me!" Ariane said, pulling up to a country lot of woods.
"So wait a mintue..I can only point out what you don't see if you're asking for my help, but if you don't then I can't say anything?!" Ailidh opened the door and stepped out.
"No!" Ariane cried loudly asAilidh's foot touched the grass and she was ripped from the car, she went flying into a tree and hit her head off the trunk....
She pulled herself out of the embarrassing memory and walked into the shop behind Darren.

Darren nodded. He knew the feeling. He smiled as the smell of fresh grounded coffee hit his nose. He walked over to a small stage and layed his guitar down. He looked at her sympathetically. It'll be about an hour, if you wanna hang around we can do something later. I mean....if you want. He smiled at her hoping she would say yes. It seemed to him that there was more to her, more layers to peel back. And he always loved a challenge.

Ailidh took a deep smell of the coffee, a small smile formed on her lips, she chose a seat close to the coffee machines and close to the stage to as Darren set his guitar on the stage. "Yeah, I'd love to listen to you. And that's a thumbs up on the hanging out after." she smiled brightly. Either she had just been sincerly happy for once in her life, or the coffee was messing with her mind. Whatever it was, she sighed happily and ordered a Triple Cream- Quadruple Sugar with an extra caffine jolt.
She watch over the rim of her cup as Darren climbed onto the stage, she shivered slighly as the caffine sent jolts of energy though her. She waved at Darren as a slight crowd began to gather in the coffee shop, busness men and women and then the old ladies who were grabbing an iced tea to continue their walks, the aspiaring writers and poets ordered straight black coffee and a comfy chair and pulled a table close to them. Ailidh tilted her head slightly to get a better listen to the first few chords that were coming from Darren's guitar.

Darren strummed his guitar softly then picked up the tempo. His fingers strumming the strings, playing a edgy song. He glanced at Ailidh and smiled as he sang a few lines from one of his own songs. Minutes and a few cords later the song came to an end. After a few of his songs the gig was over and Darren was packing up his guitar. He walked over to the edge of the stage and was handed a bit of cash and a coffee. He smiled at the girl then walked over to Ailidh.
He smirked slightly. So.... He hated asking about his music and decided it was best not ask how he was. He looked at her. Ready?

Ailidh nodded and drained ehr thrid coffee " You were awesome!" she said happily "There is no way that I could get up the nerve to go onto stage and sing, or play the guitar." she was talking a liiiiitle bit fast, maybe it was the caffine jolts. Probably.
"I am soooooooooo ready. Letsgoletsgoletsgoletsgo." she hopped to her feet and grabbed his empty hand and started towards the door.,

He smirked. Alright, spazz. He smiled as he picked up his guitar and swung it on his back. He looked at Ailidh and blushed slighty. Where too? He looked down at the ground now, trying to hide his nervousness.
